I just received my initial set of five G8 AC100-240V 5X1.5W COB LED Bulbs. They were direct shipped from China; each bulb comes in a small box and all five bulb boxes are then bulk bubble-wrapped with a mailing label, but with no outer box to protect them - just bubble-wrap. Needless to say, something happened while in route. One bulb has a decoupled LED so it doesn't work, two others glowed or flickered a bit when first powered-up, but subsequently failed within a few seconds. Of the two bulbs that did work, they performed exactly as expected and were/are a perfect light output match to the 50W Halogens they replace. I trust that the three bad bulbs will be replaced with new ones by Hero-LED customer service and assuming they are shipped with a bit more care, they will perform flawlessly as well. *Response from the HERO-LEDStore.com: Hello Karl, thank you very much for your feedback. I used this as a direct replacement for "standard" parabolic GU10 50W 120VAC halogens. In my 6-light track system, I wanted more of a flood effect than the many-spotlight effect that I had. This product hit the mark 100%. It provides broad light, is color-comparable (not equal) to the halogens, and seems to provide more lumens than the halogens; all for 20% the power! For my application: perfect.
